Travel writing - what would be a reasonable rate for a webpage of 8,000 words?
I've been offered a position by an online travel guide as a writer/proofreader/translator.
The pages on this site are specific to one city each and contain a whole range of info about hotels, sites, transport etc.
I've been asked to provide a rate per page I produce, as well as a price for proofreading/correcting a page.
Anyone got any ideas of reasonable fees? I can't even narrow it down, as this is my first writing gig.
I saw one offer somewhere that specified $7 per 250 words, which would add up to about $280 or 200Euro for 8,000words. Does this sound reasonable?
Any help much appreciated!
xx
I use freelance writers all the time from Elance.com. The going rate is about $10 for 400 words.
The price you saw of $7 for 250 words is only slightly high, so yes, that is certainly reasonable.
Good luck on your first assignment!
