Vacation in Marocco - Tour Guide?

I would like to visit Marocco and will do overland tour from city to city (Fly and Drive). But I don't know if it's safe driving around without local driver out there and where to find the great itenerary for 8-10 days holiday in Marocco.

Is it wise to arrange the hotels and car by ourself or go straight to the travel agent and let them to organize everything for me?

I don't like traveling with the group or with the bus with the same people from the 1st day to the last day and like more local things than tourist things :)

If you could tell me a little more about when and where you land and what places you'd like to visit, then I might be able to give you a little insight. I agree with you about the large groups, don't get stuck with some other 40 other strangers in your group with different interests.
