I work in Libya and would like to see switzerland Austria and Italy,with family in a budget?
We are 3 adults, and can travel eighter by bus/train or air for this cultural trip to see the main attractions.I will arrange visa and buy air tkt to eighter Switzerland or rome to start the trip. Budget is US $ 1700-1800 per person, all inclusive( accomodation, breakfast and dinner, sightseeing with entrance fees, localtransport , guide services)
That is not a lot of money. I hope you have not included the cost of flights from Lybia to Europe in this budget or it will be very tight.
AFAIK flights from Lybia to Europe are expensive, consider going to Tunisia or Egypt and catching a charter flight. There is a ferry from Tunis to Sicily, if you want to travel around Italy this might be a cheap way to get to Italy.
You need to plan on having at least 50 EUR per day and person, that is just enough money that you do not have to sleep on the sidewalk or beg for food. It will pay for beds in a hostel dorm and food from the supermarket, but not much more. For some comfort I would recommend taking 65+ EUR per day.
Your 1700-1800 USD work out to about 1300 EUR. With a budget of 65 EUR per day that will allow you to travel for 20 days. Note that Switzerland is expensive, your money will go further in Italy or Austria, take that into account.
20 days is a good timeframe for travelling from Sicily to the north of Italy. All three countries (Italy, Switzerland and Austria) might be a bit much in such short time. I would recommend travelling only to Italy and Austria. Both Austria and Italy have relatively cheap train tickets, no need to buy a Eurail pass if you use an international ticket from Brennero to Palermo for Italy and the Einfach-Raus-Ticket in Austria. Fly into Vienna with Turkish Airlines and then take the train to Sicily and then the ferry to Tunis.
Get yourself a good guidebook, I know that Lonely Planet, Rough Guide, Let's Go or Rick Steves are good for independent travel.
