Ranikhet is located in the northern state of Uttaranchal in the Kumaon hills. Ranikhet is a cool, quiet and serene hill station. Mukteshwar is situated at an altitude of 2,286 m above the sea level in the Kumaon division of Uttaranchal. It is surrounded by fruit orchards and thick coniferous forest it was developed by the Britishers as research and education institute (IVRI) in 1893. It is the celebrated scenic spot overlooking long ranges of Himalaya.An old temple of Lord Shiva exist on the top of a rock. Mukteshwar, affluent in scenic splendor, commands a breathtaking view of the Himalayas with magnificent views and bearing the Nanda Devi, India's second-highest peak.
Kausani stands high at an altitude of 1890 m above sea level in the Kumaon region of the state of Uttaranchal. It is a small and peaceful hill resort known for its unspoilt natural beauty and 300 km-wide views of the Himalayan snow-peaks.
