I'm looking for a travel guide for New York .... Suggestions?
Does anyone have any recomendations? AA Guides, Berlitz, Lonely Planet, Rough Guide to..... There are so many to chose from!!!
New York City and the outlying boroughs are such a large diversity and with so many choices I wouldn't even suggest using the guide.
1. how much time do you intend to spend in New York?
2. Where will my accomodations be situated at?
3. What specific kinds of activities do I want accomplish during this visit.
4. what kind of budget daily spending budget do I have for food/transportation/attractions?
Here is the logic behind why I ask these questions:
When you centralize yourself around the activities and attractions that you are planning for it cuts the cost and keeps you in the vicinity of where you are lodging at.
The best kind of experience in NYC is to plan the one that fits around your schedule and budget.
The planning guides have a wealth of information but they are centralized around mass tourism.
I also wanted to let you know that Hotels in NYC are very very pricey. You may want to use priceline.com and so forth where you can name your own price as an example.
Remember carry only what you need with you and always know your surroundings.
Hope this helps!
