Traveling to the Baltic states soon-help with itinerary?
We're flying in and out of Helsinki, Finland (we got super cheap airfare for summer), and are independent travelers. We'll take a ferry or hydrofoil to Tallin for a few days, then thinking about going to Riga in Latvia and maybe Vilnius in Lithuania. We have 11 days total so Vilnius might have to drop off the list.
I'm not familiar at all with these areas. I'm using Lonely Planet and InYourPocket guides, but want to know any can't miss things that might be off the typical tourist path. Not terribly interested in national parks unless there is something outstanding. We would like a night or two at a resort-type area since it's summer and will want a break from sightseeing.
We are experienced travelers will rent cars and/or take trains or buses to get around. We don't want to spend more time traveling than we do getting to see stuff. Other suggestions for Finland are welcome too.

You should definitely see the old town's of Tallinn,Vilnius and Riga. Riga is a better choice as there are much more tourist attractions like the occupation museum which is a must see. Generally just walk around the old town and you will be pleased. In latvia there are nice beaches in Jurmala, which is sea resort in latvia. You could take a boat ride across the river Daugava which is pretty nice. I can give you more information about Latvia than Estonia or Lithuania because i'm from latvia.
