China Vacations Info - Hongkong Disney Travel Guide

This article is about the China vacations and you can find some useful information in it if you are planning your China vacations now.

The Hongkong Disney Park is not a big park and one day should be enough for your Hongkong Disney travel.

1. How to get in?
The Hongkong government put a lot of effort in the building of this Disney Park. Now you can have 2 convenient ways to get to this park:

(1). By Jiutiekuaixian (Disney Line): Taking this Disney Line, you can get to the Hongkong Disney Park from Guangzhou and get back to Guangzhou in the same day. The train will enter Hongkong through Luohu custom. If you choose this way to get to Hongkong Disney, you can take the Jiutiekuaixian train from Luohu to Shangshui first, then transfer a bus to Disney. The trip will take 1 hour and the cost is HK $ 70 (for the kid at 3-11 years old and seniors above 65, the cost is HK $ 50, no need for an ID to get this discount ). Here is some info about the bus service (Shangshui to Hongkong Disney Park): Office hours of Shangshui Bus Service is 9:00 - 13:00, available every 30 minutes. To get back from Hongkong Disney to Shangshui, the bus service is available at 13:00, 17:00, 18:00. After 18:00, the bus is available at: 19:00, 19:30, 20:00, 20:30, etc. The last bus back to Shangshui is available at one hour after the Disney firework show.

(2). By subway of Hongkong. The Hongkong subway system is very mature and convenient. The cost is low and tickets discount is available for the kids and seniors. To get to the Hongkong Disney Park, you can take the subway to the station named "Xin ao" (in the Dongyong Line) first, then transfer to the Subway Disney Line. The trains in this Line is decorated in the Disney style, pretty cool, :-)

Some tips:
(1). If you choose the Jiutiekuaixian (Disney Line), you'd better sit in the 10th, 11th or 12th carriage of the train. They are closer to the waiting room of the bus service than other carriages and you can save some time.

(2). If you sit in the right side of the bus (from Shangshui to Disney), you will see the TSING Ma Bridge of Hong Kong. It is the world's longest road-rail bridge. You will need to sit in the left side to see this bridge in the way back to Shangshui of course.

(3). When you get off the Jiutiekuaixian (Disney Line), you will see a box office. A lot of people wait in a line there. Do not waste your time here because it is the box office of the subway. The box office of the Disney Park is several hundred meters away from here.

2. About the tickets of the Hongkong Disney Park:
The ticket price for the adult is: HK $ 295 (regular days), 350 (specific days), 350 (specail days).
For the kids (3-11 years old): HK$ 210 (regular days), 250 (specific days), 250 (specail days).
For the seniors (above 65): HK $ 170 (regular days), 200 (specific days), 200 (specail days).
( To get more information about the China vacations, Beijing flights and Lhasa travel, you can visit our web site: Travel2ChinaInfo Dot COM )

Some tips:
(1). You will see a very long line in front of the box office of the Hongkong Disney Park. If you don't want waste too much time waiting here, you should book your tickets online in advance.

(2). You can not bring food or drinks into the Disney Park (candies and cookies are ok). The Disney employees will check your bags at the entrance of this Disney Park.

3. About the fastpass:
You can get a free fastpass at the entrance of the Disney Park. There is info in this fastpass telling you when and where to use it.

4. About the firework show:
Although you can see the firework show in lots of places of the Disney Park, the best location is the square in front of the castle. You can have a better view of the Disney cartoon show here.

5. Food and drinks in Disney Park:
There are many restaurants in this Disney Park but they are a little bit expensive. HK $ 10 for a bottle of water, HK $ 45 for a dish of fried rice. The tourist souvenirs are expensive too. A pen will cost you HK $ 30. The Disney sun-hat is about HK $ 100. Disney Clown fish bag: HK $ 280.

Travel Guide for Family Holidays in Paris

There are the obvious sights to see when on holiday in Paris with the family, such as the Eiffel Tower, but the there are numerous beautiful gardens situated throughout the city that are a great way to relax with a picnic and let the children enjoy themselves on the playgrounds.

Many gardens have pony or donkey rides along with merry-go-rounds such as the famous old one at the Jardin du Luxembourg, which is a great thrill for the young children, but for the harder to please teenagers there are specific areas for skating and even activities like table tennis at the Parc Andre-Citroen.

During the summer months Paris comes alive with lots of different festivals, fetes and shows which take place all over the city, and from puppet shows to fairs through to open air jazz concerts, there is going to be something to keep everyone amused.

Yet how about going to the beach?  Well Paris may not be near to the beach, but every year they create a beach scene on the banks of the River Seine called the Paris Plage where they bring in tonnes of sand and create activities such as volleyball courts and even have a floating swimming pool.

Thinking of the River Seine, why not take a trip down the river on one of the traditional bateau mouches long-boats and see the famous monuments like Notre Dame cathedral, and you could even opt to have lunch or dinner on board, yet the evening is a fantastic experience with the bridges and the Paris landmarks all lit up along the route.

Rather than using the metro, younger children would often prefer a bus ride and you could choose a site seeing tour on an open double decker bus that goes around the city, which is a lot more fun.  One particular firm called the l’Open Tour buses has four different routes where you can even get to see places like the Sacre-Coeur Basilica.

You cannot forget about walking along the Champs Elysees with its famous shops, but when those little legs get tired, the Häagen-Dazs ice cream house will be a delight for all members of the family.

Ok, so you would like to get out of the city for the day.  Well how about a day trip to a Safari Park at the Parc Zoologique de Thoiry, which also has a beautiful chateau and a unique interactive maze, which is the only one of its kind in the world.  Also if you are into outdoor activities then there are a couple of great places such as the Base Regionale de Loisirs de Saint Quentin en Yvelines for activities like fishing, golf, sailing, a wave pool, quad biking, karting and even a tree top adventure centre called the Paris Ouest Aventure.

And of course there are the theme parks like Disneyland Paris and Parc Asterix, which we have all heard about, but what about the Mer de Sable, which has a wild west theme where you can see shows, yet if you prefer wildlife rather than wild rides, you can watch eagles in flight along with tree top walks at the Espace Rambouillet.  France Miniature is another theme park designed as a map of France showing numerous monuments and landmarks in miniature, but from here you may even wish to take a short trip to the famous Chateau de Versailles, where you can experience an equestrian show or fountain show on specific days during the summer months.

But what about in bad weather, we hear you asking.  Well, Paris is a city that has it all, with a wide variety of entertainment and activities available for all ages.  You could think about a visit to the Cite de Sciences and experience the Geode movie dome or different interactive experiments, then venture into the L’Argonaute submarine that sits just outside.

How about a circus?  This is often a good family entertainment option and Paris has two main circuses called the Cirque Diana Moreno Bormann and the Cirque d’Hiver Bouglione, and you can even book trapeze lessons or see shows at the Club Med World, but for the older members of your family, Club Med World also has a nightclub.

There are so many different options for shows, like magic at the Double Fond or a horse show at the Theatre Equestre Zingaro, but perhaps an aquarium would be of more interest to you and your family and in the centre of Paris there is the incredible CineAqua that has the largest viewing screen in the world.

PlayMobil is a great place for young children where they can actually play with different PlayMobil toys set out in different themes like a castle, or for older children and teenagers the, Aquaboulevard leisure centre will keep everyone entertained with the flumes, wave pool and jacuzzi’s etc, but don’t worry you could in the restaurant watching them!

You have no doubt gathered by now that Paris has so many activities on offer and we are only scratching the surface, but hopefully this has provided you with more of an insight into a city that caters for all ages, so you can plan your holiday and get the most out of it

Travel Guide Marrakech

travel guide marrakech"travel guide marrakech"

Navigating your way through sensational Marrakech

Morocco's proximity to Europe means that it's relatively easy for travellers to get here - either by airport or via a short ferry journey from nearby Spain. Culturally, however, the gulf is vast and this is nowhere more obvious than in the bustling city of Marrakech, one of the country's most popular tourist attractions. Despite being only the third largest city in Morocco, after the capital Rabat and the now iconic Casablanca, Marrakech has arguably proved to be the more alluring to travellers over the centuries, with its vibrant central square, absorbing souks and beautiful buildings laying a strong impression on all who visit. The city can be overwhelming though, particularly if you've never travelled outside Europe before, so it's important to get your bearings early.

The primary stop for newcomers in Marrakech is Djemaa El-Fna, the city's main square. There's so much to see here, with street performers ranging from snake charmers to impressive dancers and a medley of musicians playing exotic instruments. Tourists often spend an age in the small space, trying to see a bit of everything that's going on and soak up the smells and sounds of the city. However, though the square is captivating in the daytime, at night it becomes even more intoxicating as the music and performances become more intense and alluring.

While in many cities it's advisable to veer away from the main tourist area when it comes to food, the opposite is true in Djemaa El-Fna. The food stalls here - selling everything from tea and cake to soup and full three course meals - are very popular with the locals and offer holidaymakers an authentic taste of Moroccan food. Prices will vary from stall to stall so whatever your budget, you should be able to find food that satisfies your appetite and your pocket.

Though you could easily spend a whole day or more ogling the sights in Djemaa El-Fna, there's much more to see around the square as well. Marrakech's souks, for instance, are world famous and the perfect place to put your haggling skills to the test. Marrakech is well-known for its tanneries, so buying leather goods is a must, especially handbags and poufs (round cushions). But there is much more to be had in the souks, from shoes and textiles to sweets, tobacco, spices and dates.

With flights to Marrakech arriving from most major international airports, exploring the city's thrilling atmosphere has never been easier for travellers. However, it's important to remember to see the major sights of Marrakech, in addition to soaking up the delights of Djemaa El-Fna and the surrounding souks. These include the Koutoubia Mosque, a beautiful building located in the heart of the enchanting Medina, the fascinating Saadian Tombs and the ornate El Bahia Palace, where you can pay for guided tours. And if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, there are several gardens that will provide respite, like the Majorelle Gardens (home to an interesting Museum of Islamic Art) and the Menara Gardens to the west of the city, which is characterised by its many olive groves and orchards.

Amsterdam Travel Guide

Amsterdam For Americans: In-Depth Amsterdam Travel Guide

Amsterdam has long been an attractive destination for American travelers: it's easily accessible through Schiphol Airport, it's compact, and nearly everyone speaks English.

But as with every new city, there are complications that can arise if you're not prepared.

David Latt reports on what's happening in Amsterdam and the lessons he learned on the road.

For American travelers headed to Europe, Amsterdam is an excellent gateway. It's a compact city, hosting dozens of world-class museums, miles of picturesque canals, well-maintained parks, narrow streets with Old World charm, hundreds of outdoor cafes and cozy bars.

Most importantly, English is the second language. So don't worry if you need help. You don't have to ask, "Do you speak English?" because everyone does.

Even with so much going on, the scale of the old city is very people-friendly. Most buildings around the canals are three to five stories tall.

Cars and trucks avoid the narrow cobblestone streets, leaving pedestrians and bicyclists in charge. Every few blocks there is a central square ["plein"] with cafes, shops and markets.

Because the Dutch love gardens, many neighborhoods boast a park with large expanses of open space where families and friends can walk, picnic or just hang out. Besides Oosterpark, Hortus-Botanicus, Museum Square, Vondelpark, and Westerpark, there are dozens of smaller public and private parks, scattered through the city.

Even a small museum like the Museum Willet-Holthuysen has a lovely formal garden in back. In summer months, you'll see mobs of young men and women from the U.S., U.K., Italy, and Spain partying together, usually drinking and often singing""mostly in bars, around the squares and walking through the Red Light District. Keeping to the quieter parts of town, families with kids visit the museums, canal cruises, and entertainment centers. Couples get around town on bicycles or take long walks, hand in hand, along the canals taking in the sights and enjoying being together.

What's great about Amsterdam is that the city works for all of them.

Argentina travel -tour guides or explore on own?

Going in Jan. - should we rent a car or bus or tour company?

In Argentina you can travel all around without a car , if you organice your trip you can do it completly in Bus and Train. Depends of your budget, you can rent a car too.
Argentina is a way long an depends where are your destinations you need to know some things if you are renting a car.
The roads are generally 2 ways traffic, like the county roads in usa, the towns are usually far away one from the other, so you have to be carreful about filling your tank, I have been driving hours without seing a gas station( mainly in La Patagonia).
Betwen the big cities there are bus service daily, for others destinations you have to ask ahead for knowing the frecuency and the schedule.
If you are gonna move around Buenos Aires city and may be going to the beaches, bus is fine . In Bs AS city you can ride Taxis or subways around downtown .

Travel Guide To Spain

travel guide to spain_2"travel guide to spain"
Best book about to Spain -- birthday present?

My boyfriend and I are going to be studying abroad in Alcala, Spain (just outside of Madrid) during this upcoming fall semester. His birthday is coming up and I want to get him a book about Spain. But I need help finding a good one! I was thinking of maybe a novel about Spain (i.e. traveler's account, modern history book). I also was thinking about a travel guide, but none of the ones that list fancy four-star restaurants. If there were a college budget travel guide for Spain, that might be helpful. Any ideas about Spain books would be greatly appreciated!

Although I am not an expert on Spain and reading books about it, I have read a fair few questions in this section!

When people ask for good books then time & again it is Rick Steves' books that are recommended.

I checked and there is one for Spain. You can check the details here for example
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Rick-Steves-Spain-2008/dp/1566919444/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1214759781&sr=8-1

Good luck

Asmara Travel Guide

Asmara is the capital city and largest settlement in Eritrea, home to a population of around 579,000 people. At an elevation of over 2,000 meters (7000 ft), Asmara is on the edge of an escarpment that is both the northwestern edge of the Great Rift Valley and of the Eritrean highlands. Textiles and clothing, processed meat, beer, shoes, and ceramics are the major industrial products. Asmara started with four villages, to being a regional center under Emperor Yohannes IV of Ethiopia, to "Little Rome" of Mussolini's unsuccessful second Roman Empire, to being a provincial capital under Emperor Haile Selassie I of Ethiopia and lastly a national capital of Eritrea.

Asmara grew from four villages founded in the twelfth century. Originally, it is said, there were four clans living in the Asmara area on the Kebessa Plateau: Gheza Gurtom, Gheza Shelele, Gheza Serenser and Gheza Asmae. Encouraged by their women, the men united the four clans and defeated the bandits who preyed on the area. After the victory, a new name was given to the place, Arbaete Asmera which literally means, in the Tigrinya language, the four (female plural) united. Eventually Arbaete was dropped and it has been called Asmera, though there is still a zone called Arbaete Asmera

The missionary Remedius Prutky passed through Asmara in 1751, and described in his memoirs that a church built there by Jesuit priests 130 years before was still intact.

Asmara undeniably acquired importance in 1881, when Ras Alula Engida whom Emperor Yohannes IV of Ethiopia had appointed governor of the region founded a market in that place. A few years later, in 1884, he moved his capital from Adi Taklay to Asmara and had three stone buildings built to house his troops and serve as his banquet hall. About the same time Ras Alula ordered all of the other markets in the Mareb Mellash province closed (which included Sazega and Kudofelasi in modern Eritrea as well as Idaga Hamus in Ethiopia), giving further economic stimulus to Asmara. The population grew from an estimated 150 people in 1830 to 2,000 during Alula's governorship

During the Eritrean war for independence from Ethiopia, Asmara's airport became a key in the conflict, as it was used by the Ethiopians to obtain arms and supplies from outside supporters. The last town to fall to the Eritrean People's Liberation Front in the Eritrean War of Independence, it was besieged in 1990 and was surrendered by Military of Ethiopia troops without a fight on May 24, 1991. In Asmara the main language is Tigrinya. Italian and English are widely spoken and understood

Travel Guide To Paris

travel guide to paris"travel guide to paris"
I am traveling to Europe this summer?

I am going to London, Paris, and Amsterdam and want to know more about what to do. Whats a good travel guide and websites for me to learn more on what to do. Thanks

Lonely Planet's 'Western Europe Travel Guide' is really good value. It provides information on each country, cities/towns within each country, transport, accommodation with hotels from budget to luxury, shopping, how to get around each town, where to eat and self-catering and, most importantly, what to see and do.

If you're backpacking or on a budget then their 'Europe on a Shoestring' is also good with information on hostels and how to cut the cost of travel.
