China Vacations Info - Hongkong Disney Travel Guide

This article is about the China vacations and you can find some useful information in it if you are planning your China vacations now.

The Hongkong Disney Park is not a big park and one day should be enough for your Hongkong Disney travel.

1. How to get in?
The Hongkong government put a lot of effort in the building of this Disney Park. Now you can have 2 convenient ways to get to this park:

(1). By Jiutiekuaixian (Disney Line): Taking this Disney Line, you can get to the Hongkong Disney Park from Guangzhou and get back to Guangzhou in the same day. The train will enter Hongkong through Luohu custom. If you choose this way to get to Hongkong Disney, you can take the Jiutiekuaixian train from Luohu to Shangshui first, then transfer a bus to Disney. The trip will take 1 hour and the cost is HK $ 70 (for the kid at 3-11 years old and seniors above 65, the cost is HK $ 50, no need for an ID to get this discount ). Here is some info about the bus service (Shangshui to Hongkong Disney Park): Office hours of Shangshui Bus Service is 9:00 - 13:00, available every 30 minutes. To get back from Hongkong Disney to Shangshui, the bus service is available at 13:00, 17:00, 18:00. After 18:00, the bus is available at: 19:00, 19:30, 20:00, 20:30, etc. The last bus back to Shangshui is available at one hour after the Disney firework show.

(2). By subway of Hongkong. The Hongkong subway system is very mature and convenient. The cost is low and tickets discount is available for the kids and seniors. To get to the Hongkong Disney Park, you can take the subway to the station named "Xin ao" (in the Dongyong Line) first, then transfer to the Subway Disney Line. The trains in this Line is decorated in the Disney style, pretty cool, :-)

Some tips:
(1). If you choose the Jiutiekuaixian (Disney Line), you'd better sit in the 10th, 11th or 12th carriage of the train. They are closer to the waiting room of the bus service than other carriages and you can save some time.

(2). If you sit in the right side of the bus (from Shangshui to Disney), you will see the TSING Ma Bridge of Hong Kong. It is the world's longest road-rail bridge. You will need to sit in the left side to see this bridge in the way back to Shangshui of course.

(3). When you get off the Jiutiekuaixian (Disney Line), you will see a box office. A lot of people wait in a line there. Do not waste your time here because it is the box office of the subway. The box office of the Disney Park is several hundred meters away from here.

2. About the tickets of the Hongkong Disney Park:
The ticket price for the adult is: HK $ 295 (regular days), 350 (specific days), 350 (specail days).
For the kids (3-11 years old): HK$ 210 (regular days), 250 (specific days), 250 (specail days).
For the seniors (above 65): HK $ 170 (regular days), 200 (specific days), 200 (specail days).
( To get more information about the China vacations, Beijing flights and Lhasa travel, you can visit our web site: Travel2ChinaInfo Dot COM )

Some tips:
(1). You will see a very long line in front of the box office of the Hongkong Disney Park. If you don't want waste too much time waiting here, you should book your tickets online in advance.

(2). You can not bring food or drinks into the Disney Park (candies and cookies are ok). The Disney employees will check your bags at the entrance of this Disney Park.

3. About the fastpass:
You can get a free fastpass at the entrance of the Disney Park. There is info in this fastpass telling you when and where to use it.

4. About the firework show:
Although you can see the firework show in lots of places of the Disney Park, the best location is the square in front of the castle. You can have a better view of the Disney cartoon show here.

5. Food and drinks in Disney Park:
There are many restaurants in this Disney Park but they are a little bit expensive. HK $ 10 for a bottle of water, HK $ 45 for a dish of fried rice. The tourist souvenirs are expensive too. A pen will cost you HK $ 30. The Disney sun-hat is about HK $ 100. Disney Clown fish bag: HK $ 280.

Three Quick Points To Remember When Shopping For Accurate And Helpful India Travel Guide

India is one of the most wonderful places to travel to. Definitely a must see, India has captured at least 5 million foreign travelers alone every year, and that number does not include the domestic travelers who, in spite of growing in India, have never failed to see the marvel that they have with their country. If you are one of the million viewers of Incredible India or have known enough reasons why you can't miss India, we have here written three shopping guides for India travel guide to help make your backpacking a breeze.

Choose what you want to see. You may want to see all the famous places in India, but if you are not staying there for a month, then you can't see them all. In choosing an India travel guide, make sure that you know exactly what you want because chances are you really can't see everything you want in your itinerary.

In spite of the volume of India travel guide published annually, it is like a public secret that not any single one of those has everything you need to know. So make sure that you before you shop for a travel guide, you have already decided on your traveling goals and know exactly what you want to see when you get there.

Have something convenient. For some, having to always bring a travel guide is really inconvenient. This is why most travelers prefer the downloadable city guides. Once you purchased an India travel guide online, you can freely download a copy of the map to your reader or phone. And what's best about these digital travel guides is that you can easily merge whatever map you have installed in your phone so you can have a more accurate or precise imaging of the places you want to go to.

Know how long will you stay. Sure you want to come back for more after you have visited a number of famous India travel attractions. So you think that it's always best to buy a $500 since you know you will be using it for your travels. This is definitely one of the many mistakes most travelers make when shopping for an India travel guide.

The logic is that the purpose played by your travel guide is only good as your intended stay; if you booked a weekend trip, I don't really see the point of wasting $500 on a guide. A good rule of thumb: The shorter your stay, the better investment is an area-specific and smaller travel guide.

The Best Way To Choose A Travel Guide Book

When you start looking for a travel guide book, it can be a little bewildering. There really are as many types of guide books as there are types of travelers. Where do you start to find the right one for you?

Traditional guide books make up the largest chunk of your selection... and there are plenty of these. They usually contain lots of good information, some black and white maps, key areas to see, and diagrams of significant buildings. You'll usually find a few color pictures and maps too.

Think about where you're going....

Are you doing the Grand Tour of several European counties? There are travel guide books that cover whole countries, and some that cover whole continents.

Are you going just to London and Paris? There are some books that cover just specific cities or areas.

Some will combine two or three neighboring countries like Southeast Asia with Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam all in one book.

Choose the guide book that will suit your trip. No need to carry that "continent-of-Europe" tome around if all you're seeing is a couple of cities. Two slim city guides will do and be so much easier to pack and carry.

Some guide books are far more visual than others. They tend to have lots of pictures and less information. The information is good, just not as in depth as other guides. If you're taking a quick trip somewhere, those pictures can tell you in an instant if something looks like what you want to see.... they're really enticing. And if it's a quick trip, you probably don't have time for long detailed explanations anyway.

There are lots of specialty guide books. These won't give you as much general information, but if you have a special interest, it might be worth carrying one along. You can find specialty books for birdwatchers, or wine tasters. There are books that specialize in fancy restaurants.

There are whole books on castles to stay in or luxury spas. Guides to gardens or camping spots or great hiking trails. If you have a special interest, look online and visit travel bookstores... you'll probably find a specialty guide in just the field you're interested in.

Digital guide books are coming... well, some are already here. The publishers are still trying to figure out the best way to handle this. Some guides can be downloaded and read on your mobile phone... but those little screens make for eye strain when you're trying to read a map or the fine print in those descriptions.

You can down load some onto your laptop, but carrying your laptop all day will be a drag. You can download them and print them out, but then you might as well take a published guide book.

Keep your eyes open for digital guides in the future though. Once some of these paperback sized reading devices become easier to carry around, you'll be able to download just the areas you want, the specialties you want, and link to GPS technology.

Never get lost? I don't know. Sometimes part of the fun of travel is getting lost and having great experiences you didn't expect.

So for now, choose the type of printed travel guide book that will work best for you, and enjoy your trip.

Holiday Travel around the Globe by Magellan's route

There are some thinks what peoples usually want to do and also many what they don't, but from such reasons they are forced to do. It is just a way of living. But all of you will agree that it's only few thinks on the planet that all the peoples are willing to, any time everywhere. One of them is Holiday Travel. Traveling for fun and relaxation, does not matter of the destination, cause in present days, traveling guide sites provide answers within a minute. Just because we are here to make a virtual tour traveling to approach the moment of satisfaction on the journey of all who visit this site. Travelogue and virtual or real stories are from long ago. Try to remember the "Around the world in 80 days", the famous book of Jules Verne.

Our virtual tour of holiday travel will be related to the real places what we will try to present you. So, please fast the seat belt and get ready to enjoy.

We will start from Portugal because of the reason that from this place in XV century Fernando Magellan Portuguese navigator start his trip around the world. Honestly it was not really holiday travel trip but pure challenge. Portugal, westernmost country of Europe located In Iberian peninsula and is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the west and south and by Spain to the north and east. His capital Lisbon or so called white site, try to find out why. There are several reasons to make Holiday Travel in Portugal, Architecture, Cinema, Gastronomy, Music, Painting and Sport. Try to explore some of them and your dreams will become truth. It is on your own and we are continuing further as the Magellan did before few centuries ago.

Next destination South America Brazil, one of the hottest destinations for holiday travel today. Rio De Janeiro, Copacabana, Ipanema one of the most know beaches on the planet. Homeland of Coffee, Sugar cane, Carnivals and Football. Having holiday travel in this country is more than event.
Going on the south as Magellan did, next visit of our holiday travel is Argentina. Big country, with rich history.
Country is known for music, Argentineans tango myth or reality. Argentineans food, wide variety of Indigenous and Criolo creations, which include empanadas, locro (a mixture of corn, beans, meat, bacon, onion, and gourd), the latter considered Argentina's national beverage. Why don't you taste it. Football here is way of living.

Next step is to jump over the pacific, big challenge even for today's traveler. If you take ticket on some modern cruiser than your will be in better position then seaman from XV century..

Next destination is Manila Philippines.. Country of volcanoes' and lakes. You can see Spanish and Chinese influence everywhere. There is interesting architecture all across Manila, serving as evidence to its multicultural past. If you spend your holiday travel here, don't miss to pay attention to the Echanted Kingdom,, Divisioria Market, Nayong Filipino cultural park, Chinese cemetery, Splash island and many others. Magellan finishes his history travel here, but the rest of the crew has continue further.

Next destination what we will recommend is India. It is very difficult to mention what the ordinary travel might expect if he pass his holiday travel in India. India is quiet different story. It's story by itself and has nothing common with the others. Country of contras, country where extreme poverty and extreme wealth live a few meters distance. We will have courage just to mention some of them. Taj Mahal, Qutub Minar, Red Fort, Lotus Temple, Himalaya, Golden temple, India gate. You have to have several holidays trips in this country if you like to fill a small portion of the traveling potential of this country. To have holiday travel in India as first you need to prepare yourself.

Next continent to visit is Africa so called black continent, and South African Republic as first target point, often informally known as the Transvaal Republic. Country of diamonds, ecotourism and world FIFA 2010. Beautiful climate allows a very large number of national parks. There is cape Good Hope, which is dividing point between Atlantic and Indian Ocean. And at the end of this virtual trip we will get back to the starting point. Try to imagine holiday travel cruise starting from South Africa and ending at Portugal. You will travel close to Ghana, Ivory coast, Guinea, Nigeria, Senegal, Togo... etc. Finally we are back to the starting point but approaching from the east side and with one day additional in our travel diary.

What are the best sites to use to write a travel blog?

I'm going travelling in April & want to be able to regularly update a blog for my family & friends (and as a reminder to me of my trip).

I want to be able to upload pictures & videos (I'd like to use a free service so I know that there will be upload limits) and be able to customise it with fonts/backgrounds etc (relatively easily).

Any tips on the best blog website to use would be much appreciated :)

Thank you

Travel Guide Stockholm

travel guide stockholm"travel guide stockholm"

Best of Stockholm, Sweden: Top 10 Attractions

To see Scandinavia at its best, go directly to Stockholm, Sweden, for Stockholm is not just the loveliest Scandinavian city, but is regarded as one of the most beautiful and cleanest capitals in the world. Situated between Lake Malaren and the Baltic Sea and built on 14 islands, it is, in equal parts, a third each, water, parks and green spaces, and urban city. To add to that, the urban part of the city is more than 750 years old, filled with well-preserved historic buildings in equally delightful neighborhoods.

So, what should one see when one visits Stockholm, you might ask. Well, here are the city's 'Top 10' attractions.

1. Gamla Stan

Gamla Stan, or Old Town, ought to be at the top of your list. This is a place of Old World charm, with brightly painted buildings and medieval streets, which in the mid-13th century constituted the entire city of Stockholm. And since Gamla Stan is all about atmosphere, walking around is the best way to soak it up. The main street of interest here is Vasterlanggatan, liberally punctuated with shops and restaurants. Besides which, several 'must-see' attractions of the city are also to be found here, including the Royal Palace, the Parliament building, and Stortorget, the main square in the old town center, where all those picturesque, colorful houses are located.

2. Kungliga Slottet (Royal Palace)

Kungliga Slottet, one of Stockholm's two royal palaces, is situated at the northeastern end of Gamla Stan, the Old Town. The more-or-less square palace, built in 1754, boasts no fewer than 608 rooms! Yet, this is not where the Swedish royalty resides: this is the palace set aside for the king and queen's offices and used primarily for royal meetings. But still, since it's open to the public, include this on your itinerary, especially if you're partial to lavish interiors.

3. Riksdag (Parliament)

The Sveriges Riksdag, Sweden's parliament, where its 349-member legislative body deliberates, is also worth seeing. Located on Helgeandsholmen island, between Gamla Stan and Norrmalm, the Riksdag complex consists of a series of architecturally interesting buildings, among them Rosebad - where the government is housed - Mercurius, Neptunus, Cephalus, the Members' Building, and the East and West wings of the Riksdag. The oldest of these, Neptunus and Cephalus, have portions dating from the 17th century; and in the main legislative chamber, the regal Grand Stairway holds particular interest. There is a 500-seat public viewing gallery at the Riksdag, and scheduled, guided tours are offered year-round. There is no admission charge.

4. Storkyrkan (Cathedral)

Storkyrkan, or the cathedral, or great church, is located next to Kungliga Slottet, the Royal Palace in Gamla Stan. This is where monarchs were crowned. In the interior of this 14th-century building, you can view a Gothic sculpture of St. George slaying the mythical dragon. The cathedral is open daily, and is a freebee to boot.

5. Marten Trotzigs Grand

Here is one of the city's more unusual attractions. To get there, take any of the streets heading to the southern end of Stadsholmen, such as Prastgatan, which runs parallel to the shopping street Vasterlanggatan, and look for Marten Trotzigs Grand on your right. This is the narrowest street in the city, in some places no more than 90 cm (3 feet) wide! The alley emerges on Jarntorget, or Iron Square, which got its name during the Middle Ages, when iron trading was the dominant business in Stockholm.

6. Sergels Torg

Sergels Torg, or Sergels Square, lies at the very heart of modern Stockholm, on Sodermalm island. This is the new city center, a rectangular black-and-white plaza dominated by the glass cultural center, Kulturhuset, where scores of works of art draw the public's attention from behind a see-through facade. The prominent fountain at the center of the plaza, a 37-meter-high glass obelisk, is the 'Kristall', completed in 1974.

7. Stadshuset (City Hall)

Stadshuset, Stockholm's City Hall, is an architectural delight with a stately bell tower, 106 meters (300 feet) high, situated on the eastern point of Kungsholmen, the island to the west of the city center. It is perhaps Stockholm's most prominent landmark, with one of the best views of the city. It is also, equally famously, the home of the Nobel Prize where, in the impressive Bia Hallen, the awards ceremonies are held every year in December. Guided tours are offered year-round, two daily during winter, and hourly during summer.

8. Vasa Museum

The Vasa Museum is built around a 17th-century warship, the 'Vasa', which sank off the southern tip of Djurgarden on its maiden voyage in 1628. The ship broke surface 333 years later, in 1961, remarkably well preserved. The 'Vasa' is 69 meters long and 11.7 meters wide, with a 19-meter mast and 64 guns on board. Two other ships at the museum are the icebreaker 'Sankt Erik' and a lightship 'Finngrundet', dating from 1915 and 1903, respectively. The museum is open to the public daily.

9. Ostermalm

For a taste of upper-crust Stockholm, wander over to Ostermalm, the district to the east of Norrmalm and northeast of Sodermalm, where the streets are lined with expensive apartments, shops and restaurants. The 'crustiest' or most expensive of them all are on Strandvagen, singularly Stockholm's most expensive residential neighborhood, at the southern end of Ostermalm.

10. Drottningholm (Royal Palace)

Drottningholm is the other Royal Palace, the actual residence of the royal family. It is located on Lovon island, some 10 km outside the city, reached either by land - car or tour bus - or by ferry, which leaves from the bridge by Stadshuset every hour. Built in the French Baroque style, around the same time as France's Versailles, and frequently referred to as the 'Nordic Versailles', the palace displays a 17th-century opulence that you're unlikely to find elsewhere in Northern Europe. Guided and self-guided tours of the palace and its grounds take in Queen Hedwig Eleonora's decadent bedroom which took 15 years to complete, and the 18th-century Slottsteater, or court theater, which is believed to be the world's oldest theater in its original state.

What's your opinion of the travel guide Lonely Planet declaring Montreal as one of the top 10 happiest places?

I think it's silly and inaccurate. I mean Montreal is okay, but I highly doubt it's one of the 10 happiest places in the world.

Besides, how did Lonely Planet come up with this list? Did they travel to every city, every village, every town that exists in the entire world to make sure it was a level playing field? Then what? Did they somehow measure the serotonin neurotransmitter levels in everybody's brain to establish a baseline level for the world's well-being, and then sift through this information to come up with their top 10 list?

Ridiculous. In my opinion, you just have to take these things with a grain of salt.

I rather like Montreal. It's worlds away from other Canadian cities.

Argentina travel -tour guides or explore on own?

Going in Jan. - should we rent a car or bus or tour company?

In Argentina you can travel all around without a car , if you organice your trip you can do it completly in Bus and Train. Depends of your budget, you can rent a car too.
Argentina is a way long an depends where are your destinations you need to know some things if you are renting a car.
The roads are generally 2 ways traffic, like the county roads in usa, the towns are usually far away one from the other, so you have to be carreful about filling your tank, I have been driving hours without seing a gas station( mainly in La Patagonia).
Betwen the big cities there are bus service daily, for others destinations you have to ask ahead for knowing the frecuency and the schedule.
If you are gonna move around Buenos Aires city and may be going to the beaches, bus is fine . In Bs AS city you can ride Taxis or subways around downtown .

Budget Travel Insurance - What You Need To Know

We all should know that travel insurance is a must when on holiday or vacation. Medical emergencies can cost up to $100,000 or more if an evacuation is required. Cancellations to plan, cruise or tour tickers can also cost a lot of money and sometimes there is nothing you can do it avoid it. Even loss of luggage can be costly now that more people travel with laptops and mobile phones.

Travel insurance can be expensive and you may be tempted to skip it for your holiday. For long trips it may actually cost more for insurance than it does for airfares. This is especially true of budget holidays through places like South East Asia or Europe. Also backpackers may not have costly tour packages or baggage to be worried about. The normal comprehensive level of travel insurance is often a waste for these people.

Many holiday insurance providers offer plans suited to the budget traveller and backpackers. These plans tend to cover general medical expenses such as hospital visits, doctor and surgical fees, dental costs, and medical evacuation. Sometimes these will also offer minimal cover in other areas such as baggage, credit card and passport replacement. It is up to you to decide if you want this as it will raise the price.

Some companies in Australia that offer budget and backpacker travel insurance are: iTrek Travel Insurance, Downunder Insurance, 1Cover Direct Travel Insurance, Insure4Less, and Travel Insurance Direct. Reading travel insurance reviews can help determine the best insurance for you.

Watch out for the excess. The normal excess tends to be $100 but some providers charge a higher excess in order to offer lower premiums. It is usually best to avoid high excesses as it discourages claiming. However, this tends to not be a problem on backpacker travel insurance as it really only covers costly medical expenses which means that the excess will only be a small percentage of the overall bill.

Since each policy offers a different level of cover with its own terms and conditions it is wise to review the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS). In Australia it is required that a company provides with a PDS prior to purchase as it details all the conditions, exclusions and limits of the policy.

is there anyone know, where i can get free travel book via mailing post ?

is there anyone know, where i can get free travel book via mailing post ? the travel book that give guide and information about travel and picture. thx

A state library (in the US) would typically ship books. County libraries might also, if the county is large enough to warrant it.

Also, maybe the place you intend to visit or study could send you travel guides. They won't be Rough Guides or Lonely Planets but they'll be free. You'll want to contact the state, local or national tourism bureau to get that sort of information. I would google that.

Aqua-Firma Journeys: Exclusive Wildlife and Adventure voyage to remote South Georgia- an Exploration of the ‘Galapagos of the South'

In December 2011, wilderness and wildlife experts Aqua-Firma will be embarking on a new Exclusive South Georgia voyage. South Georgia is an island hotspot for wildlife in the vast Southern Ocean, with some of the sub-Antarctic region's most dramatic mountain landscapes. Until now, visiting this remote island has only been possible as a small part of a longer ships passage en route to Antarctica. This 14 day voyage will now give South Georgia the focus it rightly deserves -delving into the island's unique history which includes Ernest Shackelton's epic rescue trek across the island in 1914.

Dubbed ‘the Galapagos of the South', South Georgia has some of the most abundant wildlife on earth and this will be the highlight of our voyage. It has 4 species of penguins including one million king penguins, over 200,000 gentoo penguins and around 12,000 chinstraps penguins. It is also home to over half the world's elephant seals whose average adult male weighs 2 ½ tonnes and measures 16 feet in length.  Other wildlife includes fur seals and reindeer, introduced to the island in the early 20th century.

Of birdlife you can see prions, skuas, and South Georgia's endemic pintail; but of special interest is the Wandering Albatross, whose 3 ½ metre wingspan is the largest of any bird and whose courting rituals involves elaborate posturing and vocalisation.

All of this wildlife lives amidst some of the sub-Antarctic's most dramatic landscapes. Jagged mountains and calving glaciers create irresistible photo opportunities for even the most amateur of photographers.

A team of polar experts will take guests on coastal cruises in small rigid inflatable boats. There will also be extended walks amongst wildlife on the beaches and coastal fringes; whilst snowshoes are provided for exploring deeper inland. The wildlife is fearless of humans and if anything, a safe distance needs to be kept from the elephant seals – especially when fearsome males pitch bloody battles over females. Encounters with wildlife here are probably more dramatic than in the Galapagos. History is never far away. The Whaling History Museum, abandoned wooden ships and the grave of Shackleton himself, provide fascinating historical perspectives.

This expedition voyage will be of particular interest to those who have previously been to Antarctica, and for those who have briefly tasted South Georgia and want to come back for more. For the highly adventurous keen to ‘walk' in Shackleton's own footsteps, the option exists for a 4 day ski traverse right across the island. A maximum of 12 participants have the opportunity to become self sufficient for a 4 day , 40 km mountain traverse through steep, glaciated and often snow covered terrain, all the while hauling a sledge. They will be accompanied by experienced expedition guides who will help take them across glaciers and through alpine passes. At night the team will sleep in tents, deep in snow and ice covered sub-Antarctic wilderness.
